Search advertising, as the name suggests, is shown to users in response to a specific request they make via the search bar. For example, “buy an apartment in Krasnodar” or “order a taxi in Voronezh.”

Advertising in YAN is focused on the interests and history of the audience (the system analyzes user behavior and “catches up” with those who made similar requests or viewed thematic sites (including competitors). Such ads are displayed on Yandex partner sites. For example, if a person recently viewed free courses and articles on marketing, he or she may encounter a banner advertising a thematic online course on YAN pages.
There are several key ad formats. .

Text and graphic ads (TGA)
There are several options for how such ads are displayed in search.

The first option is when the user is just making a request. When entering a phrase in the search bar, suggestions are shown - hints on a relevant topic, which may include an advertising link:


The second option is in response to a search query. Here, TGO can be seen in the premium block, i.e. at the top of the first page:
