Martial law in Ukraine was introduced on February 24, 2022 for three months, and has been extended regularly since then. There are no restrictions on the number of extensions of martial law in the legislation.
But in international law, the term “state of war” is widely used – it was first mentioned in the Convention on the Opening of Hostilities , which was approved in The Hague in 1907. According to the Convention, the state of war must be declared by the party that attacked, not the victim of aggression. Later, in international law, the declaration of war began to be considered as an act of an aggressor or a state that intends to commit an act of aggression. As a result, states simply stopped declaring war on each other, and military actions were carried out under the guise of various operations (remember the “SVO”) or even denied their involvement in them (“they are not there”).
Thus, unlike the term "martial law", the concept of "state of war" refers to the foreign policy special database sphere.
Therefore, the martial law declared in the country is quite sufficient to organize the defense of Ukraine from aggression, in particular, to conduct a general mobilization. The introduction of martial law involves granting the relevant authorities the powers necessary to avert the threat, as well as temporarily restricting the constitutional rights and freedoms of citizens.
2. . But you won't like it. The slogan "everything for the front, everything for victory" can be implemented literally.
First of all, this means that the entire state budget will work on the front line - and not on pensions or salaries for doctors and medical professionals.
Plus, centralized distribution of products - the card system. Often, supporters of economic mobilization cite the United States as an example during World War II. So let's remember that there, from the beginning of 1942, sugar, meat, tires, gasoline, bicycles and shoes, and many other goods were distributed by card (Rationing in the United States). Sugar was given out at 227 g per person per week, and by mid-1945 - even 129 g per week. The gasoline quota for owners of private cars not directly related to defense was 11-15 liters per week. After the war, the quotas were canceled as the market supplied the country with goods. Cards for most goods were canceled during 1945, for sugar - in 1947.
Ukraine may eventually have to fully mobilize its economy
