For teenagers, there is too much advertising on YouTube

Post by pappu636 »

YouTube is the most widely used social platform by teenagers in the United States. Every day, a large majority of them connect to the Internet to watch, upload, comment on and share videos. But one of the problems they might encounter on this social network is the large amount of advertising .

According to eMarketer.com , 77% of teenagers between the ages of 12 and 17 use YouTube on a daily basis. This study, carried out in January 2017 by Forrester Research , also concludes that four out of ten of these same teenagers think that there are too many ads on the platform. But, given the large number of young people who choose to use YouTube every day, the presence of so much advertising does not seem to be a deterrent.

The social networks with the least advertising, according to the teenagers surveyed, are Instagram and Snapchat . Only one in ten complains about the amount of advertising on them. Between them and YouTube is Facebook . Only 26% think there is too much advertising on Mark Zuckerberg's social network.

According to Debra Aho Williamson , principal analyst at eMarketer.com, one australia phone number of the main reasons why teenagers consider YouTube to be the social network with the most advertising could be the fact that, on this platform, the ads skip to the beginning of the videos . There are even times when the ads interrupt the viewing .

The study seems to support the analyst's point. Only 17% of respondents consider ads that appear at the beginning of videos and can be interrupted after 15 seconds to be annoying.
