The growing complexity of multi-cloud environments and security technologies, and the numerous challenges of digital transformation were the topic of a meeting held by IDC as part of the annual RSA conference in San Francisco, eWeek reports .
organizations will face in 2019 and explain why cloud and hyperconvergence may introduce additional challenges and risks.
“We estimate that in 2020, there will be more bytes israel whatsapp data in the public cloud than on all the consumer devices in the world combined,” said IDC analyst Dave Reinsel. “In 2022, there will be more bytes stored in the cloud than on the entire enterprise systems in the world combined, and that increases the complexity because all that data needs to be protected.”
According to IDC's director of security products, Rob Westervelt, the company's research identified three major data security issues:
Growing sophistication of attacks. Not only enterprises, but also cybercriminals are investing in sophisticated analytics;
Growing security risks associated with the spread of the cloud. Enterprises surveyed by IDC reported that the main challenge is integrating cloud providers' security features with the security capabilities already deployed in enterprises;
Increasing complexity of security solutions. Not only do organizations face challenges when migrating to the cloud, but security technologies themselves create additional complexity, making it difficult for many organizations to properly implement information security policies.
