As remote and hybrid work grows in popularity, so too does the adoption of technologies that prioritize flexible and secure computing for end users, writes Amitabh Sinha, co-founder and CEO of Workspot, on InformationWeek.
IT budgeting requires special attention from business leaders in this new year. The pandemic has fueled the rise of remote work, prompting many companies to invest in new or expand existing IT solutions to stay afloat. While some of the innovations were initially thought to be temporary, many companies have discovered that employees are actually more productive in a remote work environment, and IT teams are now rethinking their long-term approach to end-user computing.
Businesses across all industries have accelerated their bosnia and herzegovina mobile database transformation to meet the growing demands of employees for flexible work arrangements. In fact, 76% of them believe it allows them to attract and retain top talent from a competitive global talent pool, according to Workspot’s “The State of Remote Work 2022” study. As companies evolve their support for remote work, legacy technologies like virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) are being replaced.

If the last few years have taught us anything, it’s that businesses must be prepared to adapt to thrive. As a result, cloud transformation is on the rise: 83% of IT leaders we surveyed reported that their cloud strategies have been expanded or accelerated by remote work. Agility requires an IT architecture that is built for the modern enterprise and can evolve quickly and easily in response to change.
Just as the movie industry has evolved from VCRs and DVDs to online streaming services, VDI is also evolving, moving from on-premises DIY desktops to cloud-native SaaS infrastructures. As it becomes increasingly clear that traditional VDI and physical PCs cannot meet today’s security, performance, scalability, and reliability requirements, IT leaders are increasingly turning to cloud-based end-user computing solutions.
