#6: Mobile search queries
SEO Trends 2023 - Graphic Mobile Search Queries
Our SEO Trend 2023 is also not really surprising, coming in at number 6. We are all aware that the proportion of mobile search queries is constantly increasing and that websites should be designed to be responsive. In Germany, we still love our desktop PCs and continue to search on the desktop, although here too the proportion of mobile search queries has long been significantly larger. In many places abroad, people are already much further ahead and the proportion of mobile search queries is correspondingly higher.

The proportion of mobile search queries continues to rise in Germany. The focus of Google and other search engines is clearly on the mobile version of a website. The mobile-first update underlines this focus once again. An SEO strategy should therefore definitely adapt to this.

While around 35% of searches in Germany were made via desktop in 2021, the proportion was significantly lower in countries such as Japan (25%) or India (16%). And this is precisely the trend of the time. The proportion of mobile searches will continue to increase here in Germany as well.
A responsive design should therefore be standard. Rather, websites are now primarily designed for mobile devices and scaled up for the desktop version.
