Since 2019, Sibur has been testing various approaches to creating communication networks at enterprises - in particular, Private LTE and Mission Critical Push-to-Talk (MCPTT) technology. After conducting a number of Private LTE pilots, the company opted for an alternative - developing and improving 3G/LTE.

According to Rustam Abdrakhmanov, CEO of Sibur Connect LLC, 3G/LTE networks are sufficient for the uninterrupted operation of services, given that most of them were designed before the appearance of advanced communications technologies on the mass market.

"Another technology - MCPTT, in theory, allows estonia whatsapp number database us to abandon classic radio communications and conduct negotiations not within one site, but throughout the entire territory where the solution is deployed. But testing has shown that the solution has associated risks: due to incomplete coverage of large areas or during technological work on the operator's side, you can encounter interruptions in communication, which is unacceptable at an industrial facility. At the moment, we see that the classic radio communication solution, although more expensive, remains the most reliable and safe," concluded Rustam Abdrakhmanov.

of Things, the company uses LoRaWan networks - this allows, if necessary, to build the network in stages, expand coverage in hard-to-reach areas and use a wide range of technologies for various data collection tasks.

When asked by a ComNews correspondent whether Sibur is ready to return to the topic of a private 5G network when frequencies for building 5G begin to be issued in Russia, Rustam Abdrakhmanov replied that the prospects that 5G technology offers for developing solutions in the field of Industry 4.0 make it attractive for all industrial companies. "With the further development of the technology and its increased availability, including from the point of view of regulatory requirements, we do not rule out considering new projects in this area," he said.

According to Rustam Abdrakhmanov, working with a corporate mobile operator, over the past two to three years, Sibur has improved coverage in all locations where it was necessary. "At new sites, the network is built taking into account current communication requirements. In some cases, we independently install signal amplifiers for the operation of digital services. For example, in bunker-type operator rooms and basements," he added.

When asked by a ComNews correspondent how many base stations and from whom Sibur purchased them for the private network and how it intends to use this equipment, as well as what guarantee Sibur has that in the event of an emergency the operator's commercial network will not be disconnected, unlike the private one, Sibur representatives did not answer.
