The main trends of cloud providers in 2024 were outlined by market experts at the Telecom 2024 telecom operators forum. Among several points, information security (IS) was unanimously put in first place, many noted import substitution and generative artificial intelligence (AI).
the most popular points: security malaysia whatsapp resource and import substitution: "The first trend is the demand for a secure cloud service. That is why we, as a provider, have set the first priority to make the design safe in all products and services. We see a catastrophic lack of not so much literacy and the presence of experts within the customer, but the acceptance and understanding of these risks at the management level. Since all customers require the best and safest version, our providers will make these services safer than they are. The second trend is import substitution. Business in the last three to five years, depending on the degree of maturity or the amount of investment in infrastructure, asks the same question: when is it worth switching to import substitution? In the next two years, everyone will analyze and make a balanced decision, because this is a strategic investment: either change everything completely, or do it partially and improve the work of the IT landscape."
Cloud.ru Business Development Director Mikhail Lobotsky suggested a transition to hybrid clouds: "In my opinion, businesses have always had a fear of moving to clouds, and this fear is not abating. In 2024, the Federal Service for Technical and Export Control (FSTEC) promises to release a new "regulator" that will significantly reduce the process of certification of security products. I would still put AI in first place among the trends. We are already seeing how large language models are developing. And another trend is hybrid clouds. In Russia, in comparison, cloud penetration is still less than 10%, in developed countries - about 50%. Large enterprises, companies with state participation are very reluctant to go to public clouds, so hybrid clouds can be an alternative."
3Data CEO Ilya Khala has placed his bets on import substitution and multi-cloud: "The main trend will be import substitution. It is needed to feel calm, confident and have the ability to plan. The second trend is multi-cloud. No provider can make all services in the best way. The customer needs to choose so as not to keep all their eggs in one basket. And of course, AI, which is the future."
