As a business, you'll have to make an important legal assessment. However, if your mailing list includes subscribers (excluding customers) who were automatically opted-in , either through a pre-checked box or through a purchased mailing list, then you will need to obtain their consent again. Not sure how to regain consent? It's easy. Just ask! Consider running a campaign to encourage users to re-subscribe to your list, also known as re-opt-in campaigns. Of course, if you send a campaign and your subscribers don't take any action (i.e. don't open the email), you'll need to remove them from your mailing list. 2.- create legally valid subscriber lists As a marketer, you've probably assumed at some point that if a potential customer fills out a pop-up or web form, you can add their email address to a mailing list and start sending them email campaigns.

Well, that's no longer the case. With GDPR, prospects betting email list must explicitly allow you to market to them. What this means for you is that you can’t pre-check a box for them or hide your communication policy within your privacy statements. If you want to send emails to a prospect, they must explicitly opt in to receive your newsletters. So, to create legally valid subscription lists, update your forms. How? So that they give prospects the opportunity to actively express permission to receive your emails . And to accept your terms and conditions by checking the appropriate boxes. 3.- Automation management, segmentation and decision making. Marketing automation has drastically changed email marketing. It’s a way to save time, communicate regularly with targeted audiences, and nurture leads until they’re ready to buy . All without you having to do much work! With GDPR, you have to think carefully about how you use marketing automation.
