The ESLSCA Alumni Association has just concluded an agreement with the association l'Œil Neuf, bringing together amateurs and collectors of contemporary art, for introductions to modern and contemporary art, teaching sessions and an election of quality artists to discover or rediscover.
Led by Max Dana, the overseas chinese in uk data association Œil Neuf was born 17 years ago from two observations: the first is that the majority of the French population is not interested in modern and contemporary art; the second is that many artists in France have difficulty exhibiting and living from their work .
In order to establish a dynamic art market, it is necessary to raise awareness and educate the general public (starting with the youngest) about the history of modern and contemporary art, so that everyone can be interested in and appreciate artistic creations and thus become potential art lovers.
to participate in educational activities in the field of modern and contemporary art: it organizes introductory conferences aimed at young people (and less young people);
to organize modern art exhibitions with a view to presenting the artists it discovers;
to organize monthly artistic cafes;
to organize guided tours of gallery circuits (the Marais, St Germain), exhibitions, artists' studios, auction rooms, and thematic trips;
to make known artists considered interesting but hitherto unknown;
to publish each year a catalogue of its discoveries and to distrib
The next major event organized by the association is an exceptional conference given on Thursday, October 12, 2017 from 7:00 p.m. at the Espace Culturel Christiane (Paris 17), on the theme "becoming an art collector: a challenge within everyone's reach or just a few initiates?"
Members of the ESLSCA Alumni Association and non-members are welcome to join
l'Œil Neuf (€15 for students/former students contributing to the AAE – €30 for non-members).
