e hear more and more about artificial intelligence and its increasingly frequent use in business. But what is it exactly? What are the advantages of using it? And which companies have already used this technique? To better understand what artificial intelligence can be for businesses, read on.

AI is considered a scientific engineer database field that brings together different technologies and techniques. The basic principle is that it is designed to think "like a human". One of its founders, Martin Minsky, defines it as: "the science of making machines do things that would require intelligence if done by humans". The term artificial intelligence was first mentioned in 1956.

To do this, it will imitate the mechanisms of human intelligence. In order to achieve this, scientists have developed two concepts. The first, machine learning, boils down to teaching computers to do "like humans". To do this, it must interpret different data. The computer will then be able to carry out one or more defined actions without needing precise instructions. It will also be able to solve problems on its own.

The other concept, deep learning, takes things further. Learning will then take place without resorting to human intervention. The machine will base itself on the data received on which the computer will develop its own skills.

Artificial intelligence allows machines to perceive, understand, act and of course learn new things. When implemented in machines, it will make certain tasks simpler and more efficient.

This technology can also enable an interesting gain in competitiveness for different companies. This is why, in order to develop its use, the State considers AI as a major issue and has set up a national strategy to promote this technology following the Villani report (March 2018). This SNIA concerns the development of AI in companies, but also the sharing of data, a sensitive area of AI. The development of AI in our daily lives has allowed it to evolve. Today, it will allow computers to go further. They can thus perceive their environment or maximize the chances of achieving the targeted objectives by making the right decisions in complete autonomy. AI also has the capacity to interpret the different data and analyze them to continue its learning and adapt over time.
