A great way to practice this principle is to start with a small part of the task at hand. This push will give you the momentum, the momentum you need to keep working on your project.

Imagine that your goal, the task you can’t seem to get done and that you keep falling into the trap of procrastination for, is to go for a run every morning at 6:00. Every night you go to bed with the best intentions, set your alarm, and go to sleep.

Every time your alarm goes off, the thought of having to get out of bed, get dressed, and go for a run when it’s probably still dark outside isn’t appealing at all, so you hit snooze and sleep on. You can’t think qatar email list of all the positives that running would bring, because you can only focus on the difficulty of the task.

Try taking it one step at a time. The first task you complete shouldn’t be running. Start with your alarm clock. Tell yourself not to hit snooze . The next day, tell yourself to wake up and make your bed first thing. The day after that, put on your sweatpants.

You will see that by the fourth day, by completing one small task at a time, you will have the drive to not only get out of bed without a problem, but also to tackle the run, go home and get ready for the day with a boost you have never had before. That boost will have such a positive effect on you that your mind will continue to remember it, and procrastination for that task will no longer be an issue.
