New Feature in Google Maps’ “Green Routes” Option

In 2020, Google announced that it had eliminated all of its carbon emissions and that it is using artificial intelligence to help governments reduce pollution. If the most fuel-efficient route is not the fastest route and the user is in a hurry, they can choose the fastest route instead. This feature is limited to mobile devices.
The app takes into account that diesel engines are generally more efficient (in terms of fuel consumption) at higher speeds than gasoline engines, while hybrid and electric vehicles perform better in situations where you have to stop continuously.
People with diesel-powered vehicles will therefore be directed to high-speed highways, because that is where their engines are most efficient. While someone with a hybrid or electric vehicle might be directed to alternative routes because of their better performance.
