Default User Folders in Windows 10

Links – This folder can be used to store multiple shortcuts. For example, in Windows 7, this was the folder that stored shortcuts from the Favorites section of Windows Explorer . However, in Windows 10 and Windows 11, this folder doesn’t seem to have a clear purpose, although I did find a Bing shortcut in it on most computers I tested.
Music is the folder where all your music is stored by default. That is, unless you use a streaming platform like Spotify or YouTube Music .
OneDrive - If you use Microsoft's cloud storage, this is where your files are stored.
Photos - When you import photos from a digital camera or smartphone, Windows stores them here.
Saved Games – A folder where some games indonesia mobile database may store your game data so that you can continue playing from your last saved game. However, most games do not use this folder to store saves. This is especially true if you install your games from Steam or Epic Games . However, some games installed from GOG Galaxy may store their saves in this folder.
Search queries - This is where Windows stores some data used by the operating system's search feature and related to your user account.
Videos is the folder where Windows imports videos or where video-related applications save videos.
In the screenshot below, you can see the full list of user folders that are automatically created for a user account in Windows 10.


While Windows 10 has thirteen visible user folders, Windows 11 has eleven. This operating system does not include a 3D Objects folder because Windows applications no longer use it. Additionally, the OneDrive user folder is only created for Microsoft accounts that use the service. Local accounts do not get a OneDrive user folder unless they install and configure the app.
