Please note that starting in July 2023, these new message insights features will only be available for Facebook Pages. It's unclear if they will be rolled out to Instagram business or creator accounts in the future.

Quick overview of messaging results
To see a snapshot of message analytics, open the Insights canada b2b leads dashboard in Business Suite and scroll to the bottom of the Overview tab. Here you can see the total number of messages initiated during the selected time frame, the number of new contacts, and conversion-related metrics for DM orders.

This panel displays comparative metrics so you can quickly discover whether your results are better or worse than the previous time period. To dive deeper into these metrics, click the "See more information about your messaging performance" button or select the "Messaging Overview" tab from the Insights menu.

Track new and returning customers
The first panel you see in Message Insights shows base audience size. Here you can see the number of people who have messaged you ("Contacts") as well as the number of new and returning contacts.

Which metric is most important to your business? It depends on your strategy. If your goal is to build a marketing funnel and attract a steady stream of leads, then you'll want to target new contacts.
