Find ambassadors in your organization

Post by Arzina3225 »

Our five best tips in a row
We have experienced these benefits ourselves. Of course, we also have tips for other organizations that (will) work with Slack. Taken from practice!

1. Start small
If you open dozens of channels at once, where there is a huge flow of information every time, people will drop out. They will get overwhelmed. Start small and manageable, so it doesn’t feel like an extra task. Then you can let it grow organically.

2. Make it fun
In real life, you don't just talk to your colleagues about work, but also about your weekend, vacation or other private matters. Why not online? Give the fun factor some space: we do that with an off-topic channel where everyone can share gifs or make plans for drinks to their heart's content (and not unimportant: someone has reintroduced the dancing banana). That fun factor is very important when you introduce something new. Now our colleagues are almost afraid that they are missing something on Slack.

Besides yourself, there are undoubtedly example of whatsapp number in philippines other people who are enthusiastic about Slack. Make sure that you do not push it through as MT, but that people involve others in a natural way. For example, there was a colleague within Frankwatching who immediately saw the opportunities of the tool. Out of enthusiasm, she regularly mentioned colleagues, for example when she had read a good article or wanted to work out an idea. In this way, these colleagues also started using Slack more actively.

4. Let everyone be themselves
Online, you have lurkers and contributors, and Slack is no different. Some people are full of ideas, others slurp it up and put it into practice. Still others are mainly interested in the social aspect. That's all good. If you force people to behave in a certain way, you make it a 'must'. So let everyone just be themselves.

5. Teach users how to turn off notifications
If you are a 'member' of an active channel, chances are you will receive a lot of notifications. These can be useful, but they can also be disruptive. So teach users how to turn off notifications. This may sound a bit childish, but in fact you are indicating that this is 'allowed', and giving users the opportunity to be in control themselves.
